coach fardella fund
for skyline football

February 10, 2016

Dear Friends,

An important update in regards to the Coach Fardella Fund for Skyline High School:

I would like to thank all of the kind and generous alumni, family, and friends who have supported our efforts over the past two football seasons. Together during that time, we raised a total of $16,489.35. We have presented two scholarship awards, helped both the varsity and JV teams purchase new uniforms, coordinated five inspirational alumni visits to the football team, as well as hosted a special film night scholarship award ceremony, and homecoming game fundraiser.

However, after much careful thought, consideration, and soul searching, we have determined that there is not enough overall support or resources for our organization to be sustainable in the long term. For these reasons, the Coach Fardella Fund for Skyline Football has been closed. We are no longer accepting donations. Our final fund balance as of February 10, 2016 is $5,673.38.

Please be assured that all remaining moneys in the Fund will be utilized as follows:

• A check in the amount of $5,673.38 will be issued by our Fund manager, Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation, to Skyline High School to be held in a specific account called the Fardella Football Scholarship Account.

• An anonymous final donation in the amount of $326.62 will bring the account total to an even $6,000. This account has been specifically earmarked to fund one Coach Fardella PRIDE Scholarship Award each year through the 2020 football season.

• As was specified in our original plans for the Coach Fardella Fund, the scholarship award recipient will be selected by the Skyline football coaching staff each season. This award will be presented to the player who shows the highest level of dedication both on the field and in the classroom. The recipient will be presented a check in the amount of $1,000.

Again, my sincere thanks and gratitude to all who have supported our efforts. I have so enjoyed meeting many of you in person, and hearing your wonderful stories and memories of my Dad. Thank you so much for honoring him with your support for the Skyline football program.

With much love,

Tania Fardella
